The Springfield Museums seeks an outgoing individual to join the Education Department as our new Outreach Educator. Primary responsibilities include conducting a variety of interdisciplinary art, history, and science outreach programs in schools throughout Western Massachusetts and northern Connecticut. The Outreach Educator will also collaborate with Education Department staff in developing new outreach programs as well as assist with school programs and special events as needed. Experience working with children in an educational setting is required, as is a minimum Associate’s degree in Education, Science, History, or a related field; A Bachelor’s degree is preferred. A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle are also required. Ideal candidates will be independently motivated individuals who thrive in collaborative work environments and possess exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills. This position is part-time, October through June, and requires flexible availability Monday through Friday 9-2 with some weekends and evenings as needed, up to 15 hours per week.
