Patterson Homestead Program Manager

_Position Description_:

The Patterson Homestead Program Manager will oversee the interpretation and

educational programming at the Patterson Homestead Historic House Museum,

including an established Victorian Tea Series.

 

The individual in this position will: assist in the planning of Dayton

History educational programs; master historically accurate information

pertaining to Dayton History’s collections and exhibits; conduct living

history programming as well as both structured and improvisational programs;

and periodically conduct shuttle van tours in the Dayton area. Physical

tasks associated with site management include light cleaning, room setups,

and other assignments as needed by the Director of Education and Museum

Operations.

 

_Qualifications_:

A degree in education, history, or a related field, as well as experience in

museum interpretation is required. To meet vehicle insurance requirements,

applicants must possess a valid driver’s license and be at least 25 years of

age.

 

The individual in this position will have strong organizational and

communication skills, be efficient, be a problem solver, be able to work

with diverse individuals, deal well with the unexpected, and maintain a

professional attitude and appearance in all interactions with clients,

staff, volunteers, and the visiting public.

 

The position is a full-time, permanent, salaried one utilizing flexible

scheduling with the expectation of a minimum 40-hour workweek, including

some evening and regular weekend assignments. Salary range: $20,000 to

$23,000 plus benefits. The position carries health, disability, life

insurance and retirement benefits that are available after a 30-day

introductory period.
