Media Manager / Gallery Manager
Description:
Lacoste Gallery, a leader in the field of contemporary ceramics, shows a range of work, including abstract sculpture, vessel as art form, and interdisciplinary installation. We represent post WWII artists of iconic stature, mid-career artists recognized for their individuality, and young artists combining clay with video and plastic. Solo, two-person, and themed exhibitions are presented throughout the year.

Position Summary:
Marketing and Publicity
Maintain relationships with local and regional media and develop publicity strategies.
Write and disseminate press releases and materials and handle media follow-up.
Work closely with Director and Graphic Designer to develop marketing materials, including advertising and direct mail.
Create and design e-blasts in Constant Contact.
Manage social media (Twitter, Facebook, Google+) and gallery website.
Assist with the planning and execution of monthly gallery openings, receptions with artists, and other events.
Work with Director to complete art fair applications (Art Miami, the Armory Show, the Downtown Fair, SOFA, etc.) and assist with art fair preparation and participation.
Gallery Administration

Support Director with general daily operations of a small business.
Assist in maintaining client and artist relations.
Communicate cordially and professionally with gallery visitors.
Manage and maintain website and Access database.
Generate price lists and artwork labels.
Track monthly sales figures and prepare sales tax worksheets for accountant.
Design wall text and assist with exhibition installation.
General gallery maintenance and art handling.
Handle special projects as assigned.
This is a part-time position with 24-30 hours per week. Some weekends and evenings required. Schedule flexible.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience in publicity and marketing
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Detail-oriented with proven project management skills
Previous gallery or retail/sales experience required
Strong interpersonal skills
High energy and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
Passion for and knowledge of contemporary art, especially ceramics
Knowledge of MS Office (especially Access), basic Photoshop, Constant Contact, social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Google+)
