Job Description

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) is seeking an experienced arts manager to join the Metro Art and Design department. The art program develops opportunities for established and emerging contemporary artists that help transform and enhance millions of customer’s journeys. The multi-faceted art program delivers high visibility quality projects that are challenging and diverse in a fast-paced and team-oriented work environment. The growing multi-modal transportation network, including a new systemwide design strategy is transforming Los Angeles County and it’s an exciting time to work with Metro.

Job Requirements

Applicants must have a BA and a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience, including 2 years’ of supervisory experience in developing and implementing complex, highly visible public art projects. Experience working with artists, architects, engineers, contractors and highly specialized fabricators on large scale projects in the public context, is strongly desired, as are community engagement, strong communication and project management skills. Preferred candidates must have a sophisticated knowledge of contemporary visual art and be able to interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
