The Metropolitan Museum of Art annually welcomes a vibrant group of graduate students, museum professionals, and senior scholars to undertake independent study and research related to the Museum’s collections. The Museum offers fellowships in art history, curatorial work, conservation and scientific research, and museum education and public practice. Fellows work closely with curators, conservators, educators, and staff members in departments throughout the building on projects that complement their approved scholarly subject. Each year we host an average of fifty national and international scholars who conduct research, engage with one another and the Museum’s collections, and expand dialogue about art in their fields. We invite you to explore our programs and the online application.
