The Andy Warhol Museum seeks a curator of art. Seeking a candidate with the ability to develop and enhance our collaborations on the international stage, while aggressively pursuing traveling exhibitions both nationally and internationally, both with our own exhibitions and with content that accompanies objects on loan to other museums.  Responsible for the development of new exhibitions of regional, national and international artists. Curator will add intellectual capacity to The Warhol’s publication and research efforts, and strengthen our permanent collection by identifying objects to be added to The Warhol’s collection. Aid the museum in identifying, entertaining, and maintaining relationships with our funders. Successful candidate will help the museum fulfill its community objectives by assisting with education program development, including providing lectures, programs, and leadership in the arts community.

Job Requirements

An advanced graduate degree plus a minimum of five years of museum experience is required. The candidate must be an expert in contemporary art and have a strong exhibition and publishing background, preferably on an international stage. The curator must also have an in-depth knowledge of Andy Warhol, his life and his times. Candidate will be judged on his/her excellence and promise, scholarly record, and interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work as part of a team is essential, as is basic supervisory experience.
