The Jewish Museum, a museum of art and culture located on Fifth Avenue’s Museum Mile, seeks a talented, thoughtful, and passionate individual to help support and keep organized a dynamic and growing department. The Jewish Museum’s Marketing Department oversees the Museum’s traditional and digital marketing efforts as well as Creative Services, the in-house ad agency to the rest of the Museum. The Marketing team conducts all advertising, outreach, and promotion across various media, including print, outdoor, online, mobile, and social media platforms. Through Creative Services, the team is also responsible for the design and production of printed and digitally distributed collateral materials requested by Museum departments such as Membership, Curatorial, and Development, to support exhibitions; public, family, and educational programs; and special events.
Reporting dually to the Director of Marketing and the Marketing Editorial Manager, the Marketing Assistant will support key department functions related to budgeting and project trafficking.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Support the Marketing Editorial Manager in routing creative materials for client feedback and approval
• Traffic advertising creative to media outlets
• Track and document advertising and marketing efforts
• Process and record advertising and Marketing Department invoices
• Support Marketing Director in tracking the annual department budget and maintaining financial records
• Respond to media sales inquiries
• Support Digital Marketing team in social media duties as needed
• Other related administrative duties as needed to support the Director of Marketing and the Creative Director
QUALIFICATIONS
• Two three two years’ administrative experience in a fast-paced office environment
• Experience in a marketing, advertising, communications, and/or arts environment preferred
• Candidate must be detail-oriented, extremely organized, and able to tackle multiple deadlines simultaneously
• Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to negotiate successfully as well as demonstrate flexibility in responding to both internal client, external vendor, and Museum constituent needs
KNOWLEDGE AND EDUCATION
• B.A./B.S. degree or equivalent experience required
• Experience in MS Office Suite required; experience with Google Docs and Basecamp a plus
• Knowledge of art history preferred
