Job Description

The Oneida Community Mansion House Board of Trustees seeks an experienced individual to lead this complex organization in the fulfilment of its mission to share the story of the Oneida Community – one of the most radical and successful of the 19th century social experiments – to explore historic preservation and pressing social issues that still confront audiences today.

The Oneida Community (1848-1880) was a religiously based, socialist group of about 250, dedicated to living as one family and to sharing all property, work, and love. They called their 93,000 square foot home the Mansion House. Today, this National Historic Landmark houses a museum with permanent and changing exhibitions and more than 35,000 objects in its collection, a gift shop featuring items crafted by local artists, residential apartments, overnight lodging, and banquet and meeting space. Two hundred acres of historic gardens and grounds with century old trees also include the country’s first corporate golf course, Sunset Lake, and the Oneida Community Cemetery.

We offer competetive benefits and salary.  To receive a full job description, please e-mail a cover letter and resume to phoffman@oneidacommunity.org.
