Opportunity: ADA Student Health Literacy Contest

ADA is pleased to announce the new and improved ADA Student Health Literacy Contest. This year, they have transitioned to a dental student video contest in place of the traditional health literacy essay contest, which began in 2015.

As always, the purpose of the contest is to foster awareness and understanding of oral health literacy.  Dental students from all U.S. schools are invited to participate in this unique opportunity to showcase their creativity, knowledge, and passion for improving dentist-patient communication through oral health literacy best practices.  Students will be asked to develop a 3-4-minute video counseling a young patient with poor nutritional habits to reduce potential caries.

ADA asks that you please forward the informational material to dental students and all faculty involved in teaching health literacy.

The contest will begin on September 23, 2024, and all student entries must be received by November 1, 2024.
