Funding opportunities: Info session & student reflections

The Fares Center will be hosting an info session with some of our Fares Fellows to talk about funding opportunities available for students. The event will take place on Thursday, February 15th, 12-1pm EST, at the Fares Center.
The event will mainly focus on the Fares Summer Fellowships, which provide funding for research or internships done during the summer, and the Robinson Fund Fellowship, which provides a full-tuition scholarship. RSVP here
The panel will include the following Fares Fellows:
- Rio Ponce, a 2024 MALD candidate at The Fletcher School focusing on Human Security and Humanitarian Affairs & Global Governance and International Organizations.
- Mahmoud Nofal, a second year MALD student, focusing on international security and global governance. Originally from Michigan, Mahmoud has lived in the Middle East and centers his studies on the region. He earned his B.A. in Political Science from the University of Michigan and worked with AmeriCorps on food security issues before coming to Fletcher. Mahmoud’s primary interests are in the structure of state security structures and how they influence diplomatic interactions.
- Leen Hayek, a first-year MALD student from Jordan focusing on the intersection of tech innovation, climate change, and international finance. Leen has an interdisciplinary engineering background focused on renewable energy, and prior to Fletcher she worked as an advisor in the international development sector focusing on labor market reform, refugee capacity building, and promoting private-public partnership models in the renewable energy and ICT.
