Language Tables

The Fares Center runs Tables in Arabic, Hebrew, Farsi and Turkish (beginner, intermediate and advanced).

These Language Tables are led by native speakers and meet weekly, or so often as the group desires. Please note that the number of classes and ability to offer certain languages will depend on leader availability. Depending on the preference of participants, groups may meet in person or online.

For interested Language Tables participants:

For non-native speakers interested in participating in the Language Tables, please keep an eye out for announcements at the beginning of each semester. The number of Language Tables and levels offered each semester will depend on the number of interested students in each language and the number of leaders available.

For interested Language Tables leaders:

These are paid positions ($17/hour). If you are a native speaker (or have the fluency of a native speaker) of Arabic, Hebrew, Turkish, Farsi, Armenian (or other Middle Eastern language), and are interested in leading a Language Table, keep an eye out for announcements at the beginning of each semester. Priority for leaders will be given to Fletcher students, but the Center is open to hiring students from Tufts or other schools to fill these positions.
