The New England Historic Genealogical Society, the oldest and largest genealogical society in the United States, seeks an Online Education Coordinator. The Online Education Coordinator will ensure the successful performance of the Online Learning Center. Provide access, and promote use of, dynamic learning opportunities on AmericanAncestors.org for a diverse audience of learners, including family history researchers, scholars, students, and teachers.

 

 

Qualifications:
Key Responsibilities: • Development and implementation of high-quality educational webinars, videos, audio podcasts, online conferences, and related content. • Foster collaboration with researchers, scholars, historians, and with universities, libraries, historical societies, and other organizations to create programs rich in historical and genealogical content. • Provide operational, product, and user support for the Online Learning Center. • Meet revenue goals for paid programs and reach out to the NEHGS audience through free learning opportunities. • Collaborate with other teams to develop high-quality educational programs • Cultivate relationships across teams to create successful online programs. • Provide general support for on- and off-site educational programs. • Other responsibilities as assigned. Education level for the Position: Bachelor’s degree in history, social science, education, museum studies, library science, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred. Education level for the Position: Bachelor’s degree in history, social science, education, museum studies, library science, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred. Skill Level for the Position: Minimum of four years experience in educational programming at a museum, library, cultural center, or similar institution with proven success in creating, sustaining, and evaluating a variety of public programs. Minimum of two years experience with online webinars or online training. Understanding of PC and Mac operating systems (MS-DOS, all Windows versions, OS X), extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office required. Knowledgeable in Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, and Safari web browsers. Content management system experience required. Some experience with HTML preferred. Experience with webinar software such as Go to Webinar, WebEx, or Moodle. Knowledge of audio and video editing tools, such as Adobe Premiere and Pro Tools. Project and budget management experience required. Email and website analytics experience a plus. Exceptional communication skills, ability to communicate effectively with both technical staff and program audiences; excellent customer service skills.
