- Contribute to the organization of permanent-collection displays and loan exhibitions through research, label writing, and digital-media initiatives
- Research and oversee the publication of works in the collection
- Respond to correspondence relating to the collection, and assist the public and visiting scholars
- Actively participate in the Museum’s public education and outreach programs
- Cultivate and steward potential and longstanding donors, including members of departmental support groups
- Collaborate with diverse colleagues throughout the Museum
- Foster and maintain good working relationships with patrons, trustees, and museum colleagues across the country and abroad as well as with the academic community, dealers, and collectors
- Other related duties

Job Requirements
- Minimum five years of curatorial experience
- Demonstrated scholarly achievement and broad curatorial interests in American art and culture
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written, oral, visual)
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Ability to work collaboratively with all staff in the American Wing as well as across the Museum
Knowledge and Education: PhD in art history strongly preferred, MA required, with specialization in 17th- and 18th-century American furniture
