Under the supervision of the Director, Research and Prospect Development, the Development Associate will support the prospect identification and research efforts of the MFA’s External Relations Division. Primary responsibilities include: conducting prospect research using online and paper-based resources; drafting biographical, financial and philanthropic briefings on donors and prospective donors in support of staff and volunteer solicitation and events efforts; supporting governance nomination process; transferring donor files and other relevant paper documentation to digital image files; handling accounting and purchasing needs for the program.
35 hours/week; Mon-Fri, 9:00am-5:00pm.
Bachelor’s degree and 1 to 3 years of work experience, preferably in development research or a related field, required. Experience with relational databases, online research tools, and commercial databases desired. Ability to handle multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment while still producing quality work. Strong written, communication and organizational skills, with a high level of attention to detail. Good interpersonal skills and a team-oriented attitude. A high level of respect for confidentiality and ethical practices.
