Title: Lead Housekeeping Assistant – Evening Shift
Department: Facilities
Reports to: Building Manager
Type: Hourly/non-exempt position; Wednesday-Sunday 2pm-10pm (full-time)

Position Summary
Working with established daily work schedules, the Lead Housekeeping Assistant works alongside of and directs the housekeeping staff to ensure completion of the assigned work. He/she reassigns the work load to compensate for unscheduled absences and/or issues that arise, and coordinates special work assignments such as furniture moving and set-ups for special meetings and events. He/she is responsible overall for the proper, efficient, and thorough cleaning of all public areas in the museum and all office spaces, meeting spaces and break rooms, ensuring the highest level of cleanliness.

Responsibilities
• Clean offices, bathrooms, windows, floors and stairways, and other public areas of the Museum; trash and snow removal; change light bulbs
• Assist with set up and removal of facilities for meetings and special events; move furniture and objects as required and directed
• Oversee the daily activities of the housekeeping staff; assign duties, inspect work
• Monitor inventory of all housekeeping supplies; purchase/re-order to ensure staff has necessary supplies available at all times
• Maintain break rooms and kitchenette areas; monitor level of break room supplies (plastic utensils, napkins) and re-order when necessary
• Prepare daily housekeeping reports
• Perform other duties and assist the Building Manager as directed
• Uphold the highest standards of safety, cleanliness and conduct
• Occasional evening work is required (for Museum special events)

Qualifications:
• At least 3 years previous experience in a similar position; experience in the hospitality or museum industry a plus
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel applications
• Ability to multitask and respond quickly to changing needs and demands
• Able to work independently 
• Excellent customer service skills
• Knowledge of OSHA and safety standards
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs and ability to push a minimum of 50 lbs
• Ability to lift, bend, reach, and stand for extended periods
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment and snow removal equipment 
• Ability to climb ladders
