Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications, this position is responsible for development and execution of digital content. Working closely with all areas of the Museum, the DCM creates, interprets and translates our assets and programing into digital campaigns. This role serves as the voice of the Gardner Museum on social media.

Responsibilities:
• Works with Director of Marketing and Communications, Creative Services Manager and Museum staff to craft a cohesive digital narrative across all platforms
• Creates and edits written and visual content for the Museum’s digital properties–including website, social media, on-site and email communications
• Creates and edits written and visual content for the Museum’s digital properties–including website, social media, and email communications
• Translates digital narrative to social media and implement social media for all campaigns
• Develops and deploys social media campaigns as needed
• Maintains an editorial calendar for deployment of all digital content, and soliciting necessary assets for producing that content
• Deploys all marketing e-communications campaigns, and assists other departments in campaign deployment
• Member of the Gardner Digital Task Force to articulate goals, mission and implementation of Museum’s digital strategy
• Serves as user experience (UX) liaison in Digital Task Force subcommittee tasked with planning and construction of redesigned Museum website

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree 
• 5 years of experience in web content management from a communications perspective
• Superior writing and communication skills
• Project planning and management experience
• Strong client relationship skills
• Experience working in systems for web content management required. Working knowledge of WordPress and/or Drupal as platforms for content management preferred
• Established record of success with campaigns via social media platform (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram required)
• Working knowledge of Basic HTML and CSS, Adobe CS (Photoshop, Illustrator),Web metrics tools, such as Google Analytics and Search engine optimization (SEO)
