Job Description
The Nicolaysen Art Museum (“the NIC”), located in beautiful Casper, Wyoming, invites applications for the position of Executive Director. In addition to being accredited by the American Alliance of Museums (AAM) and the premiere Contemporary Art Museum in Wyoming, the NIC is a cultural hub for Casper and Wyoming. The NIC celebrates contemporary art, houses an enviable permanent collection, and is looked at as a leader in the regional arts community. Our Museum offers a wide range of programs and events to our vibrant local community and state. We are seeking an engaging leader who will motivate and sharpen the endeavors of a strong staff and active board, continue a favorable path to stable, sustainable finances, demonstrate superior communication skills to promote our vision, and positively build on relationships with staff, board members, volunteers, donors and our growing cultural community.
Job Requirements
- Enthusiasm for the arts
- Leadership and museum/non-profit management experience, skills and credentials.
- Business and fiscal management strength.
- Proven track record as a dynamic and accomplished fundraiser.
- Exposure to planned giving and major gifts.
- Managerial style to empower and be accessible to staff.
- Vibrant, engaging public speaker.
- Knowledge/experience with implementing programs to grow community involvement and museum revenue.
- Experience in financial planning and bottom line budget management.
- Mastery of current technology and computer programs for stronger financial planning/overseeing, gathering/sharing donor data and for advancing our museum in the technological age.
Minimum of a Master’s Degree or Minimum of 5-7 years’ of leadership experience
