ASSISTANT CURATOR
Drawings and Prints
The Metropolitan Museum of Art, one of the world’s finest museums, seeks an Assistant Curator, Drawings and Prints. The Assistant Curator in charge of the Study Room manages the daily operation of the Prints Study Room and storage areas. They assist visitors to the study room, respond to queries from them and others about the collection, participate in Johnson Gallery installations, and oversee the ephemera collection of the department. They will also oversee the project to catalogue and photograph the Jefferson R. Burdick Collection of ephemera and manage the two part-time staff members devoted to the project.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
Supervise and administer the Prints Study Room and print storage areas
Assist visitors in the study room and respond to queries from them and others about the collection
Participate in Johnson Gallery installations
Oversee the ephemera collection in the department
Oversee cataloguing and photography of Jefferson R. Burdick Collection of ephemera
Other related duties

Job Requirements
Requirements and Qualifications:
Experience and Skills:
Cultural institution or library experience preferred
Minimum of three to five years museum experience preferred
Demonstrated experience in accomplishing original research
Knowledge and Education:
MA in art history required, Ph.D. preferred
Reading knowledge of French and/or German required
