Teen New Media Program Manager

Description:
The Teen New Media Program Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of the Teen New Media program in alignment with ICA exhibitions, collection, and performing arts programs. The Teen New Media Program Manager oversees programs in the Paul and Phyllis Fireman Digital Studio throughout the year. Additionally, he/she manages the ICA’s Teen New Media partnerships including the Boston Public Schools Credit-Bearing Initiative, providing alternate pathways to provide high school students with increased access to arts education through participation in out-of-school time arts programs. He/she supervises the Teen New Media Program Associate, contracted Teaching Artists, and works in collaboration with the Associate Director of Education to ensure the daily operations and long term goals of the teen program are carried out effectively. He/ she will successfully oversee all Teen New Media programs, including year-long programs, short-term workshops, vacation week activities and summer programs. Manage Teen New Media and Digital Studio budgets. Perform as lead instructor for workshops and student groups within an area/discipline of expertise. Full-time schedule is 40 hours per week on-site, plus related events as required.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in art education, media arts, art history, or relevant field, or equivalent experience. 3+ years implementing and evaluating educational programs; understanding of arts program curriculum outcomes2+ years teaching, managing or mentoring adolescentsStrong knowledge of contemporary art and visual culture. 1-3 years of managerial experience. Understanding of new media including digital photography, digital film, Adobe Creative Suite, both as technical tools and as artistic platforms. Excellent writing, public speaking, and interpersonal skills. Ability to operate office equipment and general mobility throughout the building required.
