FACILITIES Manager
AH-TAH-THI-KI MUSEUM
NATURE OF WORK
The incumbent in this position is responsible for all functions related to general facility maintenance, security operations, capital improvement projects, events coordination and setup for the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum. The individual provides leadership to the maintenance crew and security team to ensure that the Museum and all historic documents, objects and/or artifacts, and artwork are safeguarded and maintained to the highest possible standards. This position reports to the Museum Operations Manager and is an exempt position.

- Develops and implements policies and procedures connected with the Museum’s maintenance, security, emergency/disaster plans and daily operations. Disseminates information to Museum’s staff and ensures adherence to all policies and procedures.
- Coordinates all facility maintenance initiatives and service related issues. Coordinates and schedules the Security team for all museum events and activities.
- Constantly inspects the Museum’s facilities and grounds to ensure the appearance is according to the highest standards of excellence. Closely monitors the HVAC systems to maintain an environment that supports conservation of the collection.
- Works closely with the Head of Security to ensure that all safety and security systems operate correctly at all times.
- Collaborates with other Museums’ departments in the coordination of temporary exhibits’ setups and de-installation of exhibits.
- Oversees all capital projects and technology upgrade requests and serves as a liaison with other STOF Departments and outside vendors connected with ongoing projects. Serves as the Museum’s representative for all buildings and grounds work performed by outside agents.
- In collaboration with other Museum’s staff, plans and directs Museum’s interior and exterior renovations.
- Supervises the maintenance crew and security officers’ personnel. Responsible for evaluating staff and conducting performance reviews. Assists in the selection, hiring, and training of staff.
- Assists with preparation of the annual operating budget and monitors Museum’s construction, and preventive maintenance and security budget and expenditures on a regular basis.
- Coordinates, schedules and facilitates training sessions related to the maintenance and safeguard of Museum’ property.
- Assists with the inventory of equipment and materials.
- Must adhere to all Seminole Tribe of Florida’s policies and procedures.
- Performs additional duties as assigned

- Ability to multitask and see projects to a point of completion.
- Ability to plan, organize and coordinate activities and special events.
- Ability to serve the Tribal community, the general public and fellow employees with honesty and integrity.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the STOF’s community, general public, and co-workers.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Works in a clean, air-conditioned office area, with little noise. While working outside the museum the incumbent is exposed to South Florida Weather including extreme temperature, humidity, rain, dust, etc.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High School diploma or equivalent GED is required. Associate’s Degree is preferred. Minimum of three (3) years of experience working as Facility Maintenance Manager, or in a supervisory capacity in similar environment, is required. Certified Facility Manager (CFM) credential is preferred. Emergency Response Training experience is preferred. Incumbent must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to travel and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Typically, the incumbent may sit comfortably to do the work; there will be occasional walking, standing, bending, carrying of items of up to 40 pounds, such as artifacts and other museum pieces, books, etc. May drive a company vehicle.
