Description
The Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art at the University of Oklahoma seeks a Eugene B. Adkins Curator to help develop an ambitious exhibition program and oversee the museum’s extensive yet growing collection of Art of the American West. This position is responsible for the development, organization, and implementation of both temporary and permanent collection exhibitions of Art of the American West and charged with conducting scholarly research, lecturing, and publishing in the area chiefly though not exclusively in support of the museum’s exhibition program. Working together with the director and curatorial staff, the curator will encourage the growth of the collection through acquisitions and gifts.
A working knowledge of current museum best practices is essential. Must have excellent communication and writing skills, ability to work in team environment, and strong organizational skills with accuracy and attention to details.
Salary range of $40,000-$45,000.
