The Missouri Historical Society is seeking an Assistant Registrar.
Responsibilities include:
Oversee entry of new acquisitions -Receive and track receipts for study and other documents relating to incoming acquisitions -Maintain acquisition records in Mimsy Collection Management System as needed -Send and receive Contract of Gift -Communicate with donors as needed regarding the donation process -Record accessions -Manage Item History (accession) Files Work with Registrar on inventory and management of incoming Acquisitions Holding Room Assist Senior Curator with monthly Curator’s Review of incoming acquisitions Assist Registrar with monthly Acquisitions Review and Curatorial Collections Committee meetings
Create new outgoing loan records in Mimsy Collections Management System as needed. Track and update Outgoing loan records in Mimsy Maintain outgoing loan files Communicate with borrowers regarding the loan process Assist Curators and Conservator with management of loan requests Collaborate with Collection Manager on packing and shipping outgoing loans
Prepares receipts and condition reports (including photography); utilizes database to track location of objects Will assist Exhibitions Registrar in compiling information and documentation as needed Assists in the installation and de-installation of artifacts selected for exhibition; as well as helping in the packaging and transportation of artifacts between all buildings operated by the Missouri Historical Society and on occasion picking objects up from lenders Performs other related duties as assigned. |
