Our online employment application system is available 24 hours daily.This Senior Coordinator serves as a member of the Museum’s government relations team and is responsible for helping administer all facets of the government relations program at AMNH.

The Sr Coordinator must be passionate about the Museum’s mission and excited to support the Government Relations Department through a variety of services. He/She should be a skilled communicator, researcher, and writer that can work independently or on a team in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate can take direction, but at times have the foresight to anticipate upcoming issues that need attention. The Sr Coordinator will support the Vice President and Director of Government Relations through administrative services (scheduling, note taking, database management, writing, meeting organization, and other duties). He/She must be a highly organized multitasker that can exhibit grace under pressure and maintains a professional and cooperative demeanor with colleagues and the public.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Provide support to the office of the Vice President of Government Relations (GR) and other team members

Draft government and community letters, as well as memos on officials and policy issues

Research and prepare deliverables (legislation, reports, filings, presentations, etc.)

Act as runner for items requiring circulation inside and outside the Museum (documents, packages, projects, deliveries, etc.)

Greet guests and guide them to their destinations

Arrange visitor materials,

Help fulfill last-minute requests

Coordinate various support services for meetings/events

Select and purchase suitable items for meetings, etc.

Contact and supervise GR office maintenance by facilities, custodial, locksmith, exterminator, electricians, etc.

Process Requisitions and Petty Cash forms and obtain reimbursement from Cash Control

Perform other duties as assigned in support of GR efforts and strategic initiatives

Administrative Duties as needed: Manage Calendar, Answer phones and emails, Schedule meetings and appointments, Distribute incoming and outgoing memos and documents, Respond to incoming and outgoing requests and direct as appropriate, Maintain and update large contacts database, Oversee mailing projects, Maintain databases, files and supplies, Tasks such as photocopying, printing, creating documents, preparing and updating binders, filing, scanning and clerical work.
