The New England Quilt Museum (NEQM) seeks an experienced retail professional to increase sales in our beautiful Museum Store and ensure a visitor-centered experience at the admissions desk. Merchandising experience and exceptional customer service skills are required. Candidates must be available to open and close the Museum 3-4 days per week, including most weekends.
General responsibilities:
Use point-of-sale system, accurately and efficiently, for all sales transactions, inventory management, reports, and visitor data
Manage inventory control, purchasing, pricing, and stocking merchandise
Drive business through compelling visual displays in the store and windows
Research and recommend new merchandise to achieve income goals
Demonstrate knowledge of NEQM offerings and programs. Promote the benefits of membership to visitors
Additional related duties as assigned by the Executive Director
The Museum is open 10 am to 4 pm as follows: (January to April) Tuesday to Saturday and (May to December) Tuesday to Sunday. The Museum is closed July 4th, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.
Salary: Hourly, based on experience
