Creative Engagement Producer
The Peabody Essex Museum, one of the most dynamic art museums in the nation, is seeking a highly talented Creative Engagement Producer for multi-generational audiences, to join our Education and Interpretation department. Under the direction of the Manager for Creative Engagementand collaborating with departmental colleagues across Education and Interpretation, and wider museum staff, the Creative Engagement Producer willdevelop and implement creative learning experiences especially for multi-generational audiences through large-scale events and studio programs, and the museum’s weekly under-5s program, PEM Pals. The position partners with the Connected Learning Developer for youth audiences to develop and lead the museum’s week-long summer camp program, Arts Adventures Club.
Responsibilities include:
· Create meaningful museum experiences for multi-generational audiences through dynamic gallery, studio and performance-based events.
· Develop and manage the weekly under-5s story, art and performance program, PEM Pals. Hire, train and supervise intern support.
· Assist department staff in the training and management of PEM Guides.
· Stay current on research and approaches to creative learning and experiential engagement for multi-generational audiences in cultural institutions.
· Assist in the management of program budgets.
· Contribute to assessment strategies and implement the distribution and collection of feedback and survey forms on a regular basis; maintain and track attendance and demographics data for reporting to museum staff and funders.
This is a hands-on role for an energetic, creative person interested in producing innovative, creative experiences for PEM’s communities. The successful candidate will need to be a forward-thinking digital innovator with proven experience in embedding digital in their working processes and program implementation. The role requires the ability to communicate effectively across the museum in a variety of formats.
A Bachelor’s degree is required.Two to three years of successful, relevant experience developing and managing multi-generational programs in a cultural institution, creative arts or educational setting is required.Excellent organizational skills, including ability to monitor and keep track of all program details,superb interpersonal skills, flexibility, positive attitude and passion for the power of creative experiences especially in museums are essential.
