Assist marketing director and coordinate marketing and communications projects to maximize paid admissions to the Museum and ensure effective internal and external communications primarily through digital tools and platforms.
The Natural History Museum of Utah is part of the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. Requirements

Must have a passion for museums and the natural world and be digitally savvy.
The ideal candidate should have one or more years professional or intern experience in digital marketing. Excellent written and verbal communications skills required. Candidate must have excellent organizational skills, demonstrate the ability to pay strong attention to detail, and an ability to multitask.
High energy, a strong work ethic, a friendly personality, an ability to be flexible, proactive and resourceful are highly valued. Must be able to work occasional weekend and evening events.
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related area required.
Graduate degree in marketing, communications, museum, or other related field can be helpful–but not required.
The Digital Marketing Coordinator will help develop and publish engaging and relevant content through the Museum’s digital and social channels, including the Museum’s website, emails, and social media outlets.
Responsibilities include:

  • Assist marketing director
  • Protect and adhere to brand voice and integrity in all published content
  • Develop and manage the Museum’s digital communications calendar, including assisting with social media posts, website updates, and email blasts
  • Copywriting and publishing content for various digital assets including emails, website and social media channels including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, etc.
  • Assist in managing relationship with Museum’s ad agency
  • Assist in managing various Museum partner and vendor relationships
  • Coordinate and improve Museum’s email marketing program
  • Coordinate digital marketing projects with all departments in the Museum including Public Programs, Community Relations/PR, Exhibits, School Programs, Development, and Collections and Research
  • Coordinate special projects as needed
  • Prepare analytic reports on various marketing activities as well as admissions (ticket sales)
  • Perform other duties as required
