Woodmere Art Museum seeks a part-time Volunteer Coordinator to train and manage the Museum’s fleet of volunteer event staffers and to coordinate evening and weekend programming. This position reports to the Curator of Education.
Woodmere hosts an array of evening and weekend programming, including Friday Night Jazz, Saturday lectures, classical concerts, children’s gallery receptions, and other events. The Volunteer Coordinator recruits volunteers to set up, staff, and manage each event, providing assistance to the volunteers and to Museum staff.
The Volunteer Coordinator also recruits and interviews new volunteers and trains them to represent the Museum.
The Volunteer Coordinator should be organized, flexible, enjoy working with people, and have excellent communication skills. Ideal candidates will enjoy working in a small museum environment focused on the art and culture of Philadelphia. Previous event experience is a plus. Evening and weekend availability is a must. Approximately 15 hours per week.
