The MIT Museum is seeking part-time educators to teach science, technology, and engineering workshops for middle and high school students from September 2014 to June 2015, with opportunity for extension. Workshop instructors will teach content already created for topics including robotics, holography, biomimetics, structural engineering, physics and photography, and current MIT research.
Qualifications:
Successful candidates will have a science or engineering background, experience working with students in classroom or informal education settings and an enthusiasm for learning about MIT Museum collections and current research at MIT. The ideal candidate will have a flexible schedule and availability 1-2 days a week, with two weeks advance notice. Three-hour shifts will be available Monday through Friday between 9:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Anticipated commitment is 6-12 hours/month with the possibility of additional hours and extended employment. Training will be provided.
