The Director of Education for Brookside Museum, home of the Saratoga County Historical Society, is responsible for furthering the museum’s mission by providing high quality, technologically diverse education programs to a variety of audiences. This position plans, executes, and evaluates all on site, outreach, and virtual programs for people of all ages and will develop additional education programs based on input from Programs Committee, Teacher Advisory group, and the local community.
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required, but a Master’s is preferred. The Director of Education must have experience in an educational capacity, preferably in a school or museum environment, as well as a background and/or interest in history. Must also possess an understanding of New York State’s educational curriculum standards and the
museum’s goals in meeting NYS objectives. Work is performed in an office environment but the Director of Education is expected to administer off-site programs and build relationships outside the museum as well.
This full-time, exempt position includes an annual salary in the low $30’s, paid leave, and professional development opportunities.
