Two-year paid positions as Collections Associates offered for a 2011-2013 IMLS Museums for America grant implementation at Museum Village in Monroe, NY to begin as soon as October 1. As a staff
member, duties would involve research and cataloguing of a large collection of 19th century American material culture at a living history museum. Duties would also entail handling of objects. The strong candidate would be a graduate of a museum studies program with some knowledge of and experience with collections management. Education might also include American Studies/ Public History/Museum Education. Knowledge of Past Perfect database software is preferred, but training is available. This 30
plus hours a week position is offered to the individual who plans to use this experience to launch/further a career as a museum profession. The museum is located next to a Park & Ride in the

culture from the 18th, 19th, and early 20th century. The 35-40 hour per week positions would
entail some initial training, digital imaging and data entry using Past Perfect software; some
research will be required for preliminary identification of objects. Some lifting and adaptability
to dusty spaces will be required. The successful candidate should have completed collections
management course work or have collections experience, including familiarity with care and
preservation. Other duties may include assistance on exhibition development, digital archiving,
