EcoLogic builds partnerships with rural and indigenous communities in Central America and Mexico, and helps them identify, evaluate, and prioritize their conservation and natural resource needs. In each of our community-powered conservation projects, we work with these communities to get them what they need to restore and conserve the tropical ecosystems where they live and on which they rely for basic necessities and well-being. Our work with our partners can include skills, financing, materials, access to decision makers and experts, hands-on experience, and other forms of support.

Institutional Development Officer, EcoLogic (Cambridge, MA)

This position’s core responsibility is to gain support from institutional funders (foundations, corporations, public agencies, and strategic allies) for EcoLogic to achieve its annual income goals. In order to do this, the Program Officer is responsible for researching prospective donors along with major trends in philanthropic giving related to sustainable development and conservation; drafting and finalizing proposals, letters of inquiry, reports and other documents to institutional donors; maintaining up-to-date Institutional Development files and records in Raisers Edge; maintaining the submissions calendar and tracking upcoming deadlines; and managing relationships with a portfolio of current and prospective donors. This position plays and important role as a link between EcoLogic’s work on the ground and key institutional donors.

Energy Intern, MAPC, Boston

The Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) seeks a clean energy intern to work in its office in Boston starting in September 2015. MAPC is a regional planning agency serving the people who live and work in Metropolitan Boston. The clean energy intern will have significant research responsibilities and will work directly with the Clean Energy Division team to develop and implement MAPC’s energy projects throughout the MAPC region.

Sustainability Intern, City of Newton (MA)

Newton, Massachusetts, is developing a sustainability program in order to improve environmental, social and economic outcomes throughout the city.  The Sustainability Department, which is in the Mayor’s Office, is offering several internships – this summer and throughout the year – to qualified graduate students who are enrolled in sustainability or environmental programs.
