This position is located in the Department of Energy and Environment’s Urban Sustainability Administration. This position will support coordination within the agency, among sister agencies, and with the private sector to advance green building and climate change programs and policies. Responsibilities will include analysis of and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions and green building performance, outreach to the private sector, policy research, and support for the District’s Green Building Fund grant program and related projects.

Sustainability Engagement Associate, CDP (New York)

CDP North America is seeking an individual to manage relationships with approximately 200 North American energy and utilities companies. This person will also be responsible for ensuring that company disclosures are aligned with CDP’s guidance and scoring methodologies. Excellent engagement and communication skills, as well as attention to detail, are paramount—as is the ability to understand company needs, identify opportunities, and act on this information. This individual must understand the business implications represented by climate change, and have at least some experience working in or with companies in the energy or utilities sector. Knowledge of, or interest in learning about, water-related risks specific to these companies is also important. This is not a research, analysis or writing role, although there might be limited opportunities to explore these skills in an ad hoc manner.

Climate CoLab Fellows, MIT (Cambridge, MA)

About Climate CoLab
MIT’s Climate CoLab (www.climatecolab.org) is a quickly-growing online platform where 50,000 people from around the world work with experts and each other to create, analyze, and select detailed proposals for what to do about climate change. In 2016, the Climate CoLab is running a suite of contests on topics such as energy efficiency, transportation, adaptation, and engaging the public, as well as on specific regions around the world.
Seeking Fellows

Contest Fellows are graduate students, PhD candidates or professionals with expertise in topics related to climate change; and are eager to support a diverse online community in developing new, creative solutions. They work with senior experts, explore deeply issues of interest to them, connect with relevant organizations and interested citizens internationally, and take a leadership position in this fast-growing and innovative project. This role requires a strong and ongoing commitment for the duration of the contest (a minimum of 2 hours/week between Jan – July 2016).  Fellowships can be completed virtually and are unpaid.  
Impact Assessment Fellows take a leadership role in analyzing and certifying the climate impact of proposals submitted to the platform.  We seek graduate students or professionals with experience in computer-based modeling and an interest in mentoring others, who can devote 5 hours per week from March to June.  All Fellows will receive training.  Positions can be completed virtually and are unpaid.  Learn more.

Director of Conference and Events, AASHE (Philadelphia, PA)

The Director of Conference & Events provides managerial oversight and direction for the coordination and planning of the AASHE Annual Conference & Expo as well as logistical support for other meetings including workshops, retreats and other events. Specific duties include site visit planning, pre and onsite registration management, scheduling, vendor management, room management, budgeting, contract negotiation, Request for Proposal management, site research, and hotel negotiation. AASHE’s Annual Conference is a multi-faceted event that brings together more than 2,300 attendees to participate in pre and post conference workshops and tours plus two days of educational sessions with more than 900 presenters, an exhibit hall with more than 90 exhibitors and 150 volunteers.
