Campus Sustainability Coordinator, Marquette University, (Milwaukee, WI)

The Campus Sustainability Coordinator is responsible for providing the vision, organizational strategy, and focus for advancing operational sustainability efforts at Marquette University. This position provides senior administrators, faculty, staff and students with the knowledge, skills, and motivation to integrate sustainability values and practices into: strategic planning processes, on-going master planning efforts, operations and resource management, and overall University practices. This individual will collaborate with students, faculty, and staff and relevant committees to support and enhance current sustainability initiatives and will provide leadership in assisting the University to continue to enhance its efforts and reputation with regard to sustainability programs.

The Sustainability Coordinator will directly develop, coordinate, and execute projects and initiatives supporting Marquette’s sustainability goals in a broad range of areas. The Sustainability Coordinator manages a coherent, campus-wide sustainability program by coordinating operations, planning, academic, research, and student sustainability activities.

Sustainability and Communications Coordinator, University of Maryland, (College Park, MD)

This position supports the Assistant Director for External Communications and Sustainability Initiatives in implementing and managing sustainable transportation programs as well as communications and marketing projects. The ideal candidate will have experience with sustainability, Transportation Demand Management and the implementation of marketing and social media strategies to encourage commuter behavior change, to include metrics and reporting both internally and externally.

This position is the lead project manager for several different customer facing initiatives and must be able to demonstrate initiative, strong decision making abilities and impeccable customer service. The position supports the University’s goal of reducing the number of employees, students and visitors driving alone to campus, reducing traffic congestion and parking demand while improving the quality of the campus environment. This position will focus on increasing the use of sustainable transportation on campus through efficient and effective programs, marketing and customer service.

Sustainability Coordinator, Seattle College District, (Seattle, WA)

This is a full-time, exempt, ongoing opportunity in support of the Seattle College District’s sustainability efforts. The position reports to the Vice Chancellor of Finance and Technology and will serve as lead coordinator for the implementation of a district-wide sustainability plan and continual resource conservation strategies. The coordinator will assist and coordinate efforts across the Seattle Colleges, working with campus sustainability committees, staff, faculty, administrators, and students, to advance the overall sustainability of the District.

Essential Functions:

  • Serve as the primary institutional contact for sustainability matters.
  • Work with the District Sustainability Committee to coordinate the implementation of a district-wide sustainability plan that includes identification of current efforts, gaps that need to be addressed, and a plan of action and timeline for improving sustainability practices.
  • Research and identify sustainability strategies, and associated costs and benefits, used by other colleges and universities to improve sustainability at the Seattle Colleges.
  • Conduct STARS sustainability assessments for all three colleges, building on past STARS sustainability submissions.
  • Develop and manage a database of utility data for reporting energy benchmarking, greenhouse gas reporting, LEED building reporting, and other official reports for the District.
