Director of Outdoor & Environmental Education, Earldom College, (Richmond, IN)

Earlham College is currently seeking qualified candidates for the Director of Outdoor and Environmental Education. This is a full-time, 12-month administrative faculty position. Salary is commensurate with experience, including a full benefits package.

The program operates courses and trips regionally, nationally and internationally including yearly expeditions to Utah and Ontario. The College is seeking a leader who, working collaboratively, can articulate and enact a compelling vision for the integration of outdoor and environmental education within our sustainability program and more broadly with the liberal arts.

Major program areas include the August Wilderness summer pre-orientation program, the Miller Farm sustainable agriculture program, the certificate program in Outdoor Education, and student-led outdoor-based physical education courses.

Community GIS Project Leader, Portland State University, (Portland, OR)

The Community GIS Project Leader is an AAUP represented non-tenure track faculty appointment at the rank of Senior Research Associate 1.

Principal duties of the position:

• Community geography – engage with communities throughout the Portland region to identify innovating mapping and other data visualizations to serve community needs.

• Provide GIS analysis support for projects in IMS and PRC.

• Possibly teach within the undergraduate or graduate programs within the College of Urban and Public Affairs or in PSU’s University Studies program.

• Contribute to strategic planning for IMS and PRC.

Student Housing Sustainability & Conservation Coordinator, Stanford University, (Palo Alto, CA)

Sustainability is a core value on campus and within R&DE Student Housing. The R&DE Student Housing Sustainability Programs Office collaborates with students and staff to foster behavior change, reduce energy and water consumption and waste production in our residences, and to integrate long-term sustainable thinking into how we operate. The Coordinator will support the Office’s goals and report directly to the Sustainability and Utilities Program Manager.

Graduate Student Research Symposium, Tufts University, (Medford, MA)

The Research Symposium represents one of the GSC’s core missions: to promote communication between disciplines and across the schools. This is a great opportunity for graduate students to develop and hone their public speaking skills. It will challenge you to discuss your research with an audience of diverse academic backgrounds and allow the Tufts community to appreciate the extent of scholarly work that takes place here. The theme of this year’s symposium is effective communication. You can chose to present in one or more of the three different sessions: 15-minute presentations, 5-minute presentations, and a poster session.
