The Metropolitan Area Planning Council seeks a Planning and GIS Intern for the Analytical Services Group in MAPC’s Data Services Department.
The Planning and GIS Intern will assist in organizing, interpreting, and visualizing demographic and geographic data for a wide variety of regional and local planning projects and data requests. The ideal candidate will be familiar with Esri ArcGIS software and would have strong technical analysis and graphic presentation skills. The intern will have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of regional and local planning projects, including smart growth land use planning, local rezoning efforts, open space and recreation plans, and transit-oriented development in diverse communities across Metro Boston.

The World Resources Institute (WRI) seeks a Communications Coordinator to support WRI’s Water Program’s mission by developing and implementing communications strategies, and supporting multiple communications channels, such as blogging, media relations, web presence, and events. Secure Fisheries seeks a full-time Spanish-speaking fisheries science intern to help us scope a new project in Colombia promoting food and economic security through sustainable fisheries. The intern will conduct research on the sustainability of Colombian fisheries. The intern will create a bibliography of resources, and write a review paper of her/his findings. The intern will additionally create a summary of projects in Colombia, including but not limited to those led by non-governmental organizations, the government, and aid projects.
Internship would run 3-6 months with full or part time options available depending on candidate availabiltiy.
