Fall Sustainability Program Intern, Tufts Office of Sustainability (Medford, MA)

The Tufts Office of Sustainability is seeking an undergraduate student to assist with office projects and communications during the 2017-18 academic year. The intern will support office programs such as the student Eco-Reps, employee Eco-Ambassadors, and the Green Office Certification program, assist with office events, and research and support other sustainability initiatives at the university. Occasionally the intern will be asked to do small chores around the Sustainability Office and empty compost bins. Hours & Timeframe: This position is for the 2017-2018 academic year and will begin in September 2017. Interns are expected to work approximately 8 hours per week. You must submit both a cover letter and resume to be considered for this position.

The student will assist with office communications, including creating outreach materials and posters, writing blog posts, assisting with social media programming, and performing website and blog maintenance. Summer Sustainability Intern, Tufts Office of Sustainability (Medford, MA)

The Tufts Office of Sustainability is seeking a full-time summer intern to assist with day-to-day office activities. The intern will assist with office communications, including creating documents and outreach materials, writing articles, assisting with social media programming, and performing website and blog maintenance. The intern will help plan and organize the office’s participation in a number of events, including the President’s Picnic and new student orientations. This will include preparing event materials, assisting with event logistics, and tabling at events. In addition, the intern will be expected to research sustainability initiatives that might be undertaken on any of Tufts’ three campuses (Boston, Medford, Grafton) and to help the Office of Sustainability staff with any projects they are currently working on. You must submit both a resume and cover letter to be considered for this position.

The summer intern is expected to work 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Monday through Friday from the end of May through New Student Orientation. Move-Out Workers, Tufts Facilities (Medford, MA)

Wanted: Temporary workers to assist with undergraduate move-out (Pack-A-Dorm), Senior week move-out, and events surrounding commencement. Students will be asked to select the shifts they wish to work, and Tufts will provide late stay to those who can work from the Sunday after Undergraduate move-out through senior move-out (5/14 – 5/23). Late stay privileges are maintained if student consistently reports to work. Preference given to students who are available to work 5/11 – 5/14 as these are the peak move-out days. Sample responsibilities include: *Accepting and storing donations from students *Ensuring that trash, recycling, and compost items end up in the correct bins *Other move-out related duties as assigned *On the ground support for events such as commencement and the President’s Picnic (includes setting up recycling, compost, and trash stations as well as maintaining these stations throughout the day)

Student must be able to: *Walk extensively around campus *Lift at least 50lbs *Commit to working hours scheduled *Have excellent communication skills *Work pro-actively and independently as well as take direction

$11.00/hour to $15.00/hour
