Videography & Storytelling position, PLAN (various locations)

Position Brief:

The Post-Landfill Action Network (PLAN) is seeking a creative storyteller who would be responsible for creating and coordinating compelling social media content, with a focus on visual storytelling, videography, social media strategy, and production of engaging copy. Over the course of this position, said person will also work closely with the team’s Graphic Designer to produce and help guide the production of visual assets, including graphics.

This position will require significant time “on the road” for our Spring 2019 Points of Intervention Tour.

Logistics:

·  Hours Per Week:  Full-Time 40 hours/week (flexible) with some night-time/weekend activities. While traveling on tour, some weekend travel will be required.

·  Compensation: $2,000 / month stipend – Total of $8,000 for full project period. While traveling on tour, all transportation and accommodation expenses are covered by the organization, and an additional travel stipend of $20/day will be provided for daily expenses during travel days. Additional benefits are available.

·  Start/End Dates of Contract: Monday, Feb 11 – Friday May 31, 2019

·  Location: Flexible. Position can start anywhere, and office spaces are available in Philadelphia, PA,  Dover, NH, Boulder, CO, and Columbia, SC. Position requires joining a national tour and living on the road for about 10 – 12 weeks in January, February, March, and April.

·  Eligibility: This position is intended for a person with videography and photography skills who is interested in storytelling and curating social content for our annual Spring tour.

Solar Ambassador Fellowship, RE-volv (various locations)

The Solar Ambassador Program is a year-long fellowship for undergraduates offered by RE-volv, a clean energy nonprofit organization. We’re now accepting applications for the next cohort and you can access the application here.

RE-volv’s Solar Ambassador Program is a unique opportunity for college students to develop key project management, outreach and communications skills while tangibly taking action on climate change through solar energy. Student teams will receive in-depth training in solar energy policy, financing, crowdfunding and community organizing while working in their community to deploy a solar energy project for a local nonprofit.

Business Development and Marketing Intern, miles2share (various locations and Westborough, MA)

Company Overview:miles2share has recently launched an innovative carpooling app on both iOS and Android platforms. miles2share’s innovative solution is making carpooling with others easy, safe and hassle-free by monetizing the shared distance and by giving members complete control and flexibility. miles2share ‘connects people first’ interested in carpooling based on route overlap and then provides a platform to setup schedule for one route or multiple routes, share rides and pay or earn as you ride or drive via app. miles2share is based out of Westborough, MA

Job description: The business development & marketing intern will work closely with the management team in ‘Strategy and Marketing’ to drive business development and marketing initiatives aimed at the explosive growth of miles2share users. They will actively pursue and prospect business to business (B2B) customers on the enterprise level and create multilevel awareness on the B2C channel of miles2share offerings. Some of the responsibilities of the intern will include:

  • Working on business development strategies and implementing them to rapidly enable the adoption of the miles2share app (android and iOS)
  • Deep dive into finding the right customers (primarily focused in New England area but open to all 52 US states) and build an insightful business repository of enterprises who can use miles2share offerings
  • Business development – enroll colleges, universities and corporations into miles2share ‘exclusive closed network’ solution
  • Work on sales prospecting and assist marketing in live event promotion and digital marketing activities
  • Focus on building and maintaining account management relationships with existing and new enterprise customer
  • Lead to marketing efforts inconjuction with universities and corporations- on web, social media channels and/or on campus events
  • Hands-on go-getter and willing to roll up his/her sleeves to continuously prospect and convert customers, give presentations to customers and onboard them

Qualification or Requirements:

  1. BA/BS or MBA/MS with a focus on business development, strategy and marketing
  2. 1 – 4+ years of experience with preferably,  on the ground B2B sales and business development with a focus on closing or maintaining business accounts
  3. Previous experience working in a consumer or enterprise company
  4. Knowledge of how consumer level apps work in the mobile space and an attention to detail
  5. Marketing experience in technology companies preferred but not necessary
  6. Should be familiar in facing uncertainty in work environment and willing to try out new ideas to create awareness and increase customer promotion

Location:miles2share is based out of Westborough, MA. This job comes with 100% freedom when it comes to physical location to work from except weekly or bi-weekly meetings with management in Westborough.

Compensation: Commission based on business development. Potential to earn more than $1000 per week based on business generation. Opportunity to work from anywhere. Experience and recommendation letter/certificate will be given after the successful completion of the goals of the internship.
