The Director of Engineering Services is responsible for the administration, management, supervision, and oversight of the Engineering Services unit which is part of the Physical Planning, Development & Operations department. The Director is responsible to lead and direct all Unit efforts associated with utility and infrastructure system planning, design and construction of engineering-specific projects, supporting the efforts of colleagues within the department who are tasked with the design and construction of other projects or operation of utility and infrastructure systems, development and implementation of standards, procedures, and guidelines related to utility and infrastructure systems, represents the campus and its interests in its working relationships with utility providers and agencies involving engineering and public works matters. In carrying out these duties, the Director supervises and directs the work of professional staff members and outside consultants. Additionally, the Director provides leadership to effectively manage the organizational unit, implement change management and process improvement initiatives, and conducts short to long term planning for unit development.

SUSTAINABILITY COMMUNICATION SPECIALIST, MIT Office of Sustainability (MITOS), to serve as communications strategist responsible for executing projects and initiatives that align with strategic priorities of the office.  Will execute impactful communication strategies that expand MITOS’ reach across the MIT campus and with its regional and global communities.  Responsibilities include developing and managing campus-wide campaign on sustainability initiatives in an effort to broadly communicate MIT’s sustainability commitment and efforts; managing integrated print and digital strategy across platforms (i.e., website, social media, newsletters/brochures, reports, news articles); overseeing design and maintenance of MITOS websites; leading the creation of new digital and print materials; managing contracts with vendors/partners; managing outreach initiatives that advance the objectives of MITOS; building partnerships with other communications and marketing stakeholders across MIT; managing press and media relations in collaboration with MIT’s media relations team; overseeing communications budget; reviewing and analyze metrics; supporting other team members as needed; leveraging local/regional/global partnerships to create awareness of MITOS’ work; and assisting with strategy, logistics, and preparations for events/meetings/conferences.

Collects, maintains, and reports on sustainability metrics including the STARS report and related programs; audits and verifies processes relative to sustainable practices and progress and makes independent judgments by interpreting process implementation; uses reporting and collaboration to guide key department representatives in updating and improving operational efficiencies for sustainable practices; collects, analyzes, and synthesizes data using systematic methods such as research surveys and focus groups to identify best practices and opportunities for improvement; and utilizes national reports, articles, and website resources to analyze and benchmark MSU practices with other higher education institutions.

As the Kless Revolving Energy Loan Fund (KRELF) has continued to grow, the need for additional administrative staff support has become apparent.
