The Community Development Department (CDD) is the planning agency for the City of Cambridge. Zoning and Development staff manage many aspects of planning for land use and urban development. Specific activities of the Zoning and Development Intern would include:
- Assisting in review of design and development proposals and other zoning-related initiative
- Providing staff support for Planning Board meetings (held most Tuesday evenings), occasional City Council hearings, community meetings and in-house review meeting
- Assisting in preparing meeting materials and presentations for Planning Board and City Council
- Organizing and processing information to be made available to the public on the CDD web site
- Researching, analyzing, and summarizing zoning practices and precedents in other municipalities
- Organizing mailings using Microsoft Word’s mail-merge function
- Additional projects may be identified based on the applicant’s skills and interests and the division’s needs
