Regional Planning and GIS Intern, Metropolitan Area Planning Council (Boston, MA)

The Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) seeks a Regional Planning GIS Intern to support members of the Data Services Department on data analysis and mapping for local and regional planning projects.  The ideal candidate will be an experienced Esri ArcMap user with a strong interest in planning, sustainability, and social equity. Our team works on projects stemming from departments across the agency. Candidates should also be excited to work on several projects at once in diverse topic areas.

Data Science Intern, Metropolitan Area Planning Council (Boston, MA)

The intern will gain first-hand experience in the development and analysis of data resources and their application to local planning efforts and regional policy advocacy.

Real Estate Research Intern, Metropolitan Area Planning Council (Boston, MA)

The Metropolitan Area Planning Council seeks an intern interested in contributing to a unique inventory of past, present, and future development in Metro Boston. The intern, working in the agency’s Data Services Department, will collect information about new developments in the region through research and outreach to municipal staff and developers, and will record that information via www.MassBuilds.com, MAPC’s open source real estate development inventory for Massachusetts.

Energy and Sustainability Engineer (Worcester, MA)

Under the general direction of the Associate Director of Sustainability & Campus Services or designee, the Energy and Sustainability Engineer is responsible for managing the UMass Medical School energy and sustainability program.  The Energy and Sustainability Engineer will play a key role in advising the University on how to create and implement strategies to reduce energy and carbon emissions in its operations and capital programs to meet voluntary and mandatory goals established through institutional commitments. The position will include policy development, project identification and implementation, public relations, employee and contractor education, and data development and analysis.  The UMass Medical School energy and sustainability programs aligns with the UMass Board of Trustees Policy focusing on strategic planning, greenhouse gas reduction and clean energy, green building and operations, water conservation and efficiency, sustainable purchasing, and sustainable food systems.
