Within the field of Structural Engineering, the position requires someone with expertise in structural modeling of conventional and innovative materials, and earthquake engineering. Under limited supervision, provides garden related programming for the campus and community. Manages the Sustainable Carolina Garden using Permaculture principles. Develops partnerships across the campus and community to engage in the garden as a living-lab. Mentors, trains, and supervises student peer leaders and projects.

We seek applicants who have completed or are working toward a Ph.D. in physics, engineering, environmental studies or an equivalent field with relevant teaching, research or industry expertise to teach graduate and undergraduate students in green energy or sustainability.
The Antiracist Research and Policy Center (ARPC) at American University (AU) invites applications and nominations for a full-time Executive Director. The successful candidate will join a vibrant and collegial community of scholars, professionals, authors, advocates, activists, organizers, and creators at the University. The Executive Director will continue building a new vision for the Center, and help cohere and amplify the work of other scholars on AU’s campus, while advancing their own scholarly agenda related to antiracist, research, praxis, and/or policy. Research should include an active antiracist agenda, including the study of racial inequalities and racial disparities. The director must be committed to working collaboratively with the Center faculty, fellows, and other partners on campus and in the Washington, D.C. region. Qualified candidates may be eligible for a tenured appointment in an appropriate academic unit with teaching obligations subject to negotiation. The appointment begins July 1, 2021.
Responsible for effective leadership and support of a large and complex service organization that has asset responsibility for the Columbia campus buildings and grounds. This includes but is not limited to: Building Maintenance Services; Custodial Services; Landscaping Services; Waste Management Services, Energy Plant Operations, Campus Energy Management, Small Business Contract Management, In-house Remodeling, a Facilities Work Management Center, Deferred Maintenance/Capital Renewal Management and all associated resources.
This position directly reports to the Chief Operating Officer.
