Seasonal Resource Assistant, Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection (Mildord, CT)

$12.00 to $14.00 per hour depending on education and experience. Seasonal employees assist the Program staff in performing tasks associated with an intensive water quality-monitoring program of Long Island Sound. Three to four days (8 – 14 hours each) biweekly will be spent on Long Island Sound aboard the research vessel John Dempsey measuring various water quality and environmental parameters.

Writing the Land Internship, NatureCulture (Remote)

Writing the Land is a project which connects poets with land trust protected lands. We create a yearly anthology with a chapter for each land trust. Internship duties and responsibilities are to help formulate an innovative strategy of outreach to urban land trusts and to poet communities of color and cultural diversity (both urban and rural). This is an unpaid internship available as a spring semester (March, April, May) and/or a summer semester (June, July, August) internship. Hours are flexible; an average of 4 hours per week with more available if desired.

Summer Research Program in Ecology, Harvard Forest (Remote)

The Harvard Forest Summer Research Program in Ecology is an immersive research experience, connecting undergraduate students to mentors and researchers in the pursuit of scientific inquiry. Our 2021 summer program will be VIRTUAL. Program Dates: Monday, May 24 – Friday, August 6. This is an 11-week paid virtual internship opportunity with a $9,350 stipend, inclusive of support for living and home office expenses.

NSF Data Analysis & Statistics Internships, National Center for Science and Engineering Statistics (Remote/Alexandria, VA- D.C. area)

The NCSES provides policy makers and the public high-quality information on the science and engineering enterprise. You will learn and collaborate on projects that make use of expertise from a variety of fields, including survey methodology, survey statistics, economics and other social science disciplines to design, study, implement and conduct national surveys to measure the science and engineering enterprise. You will also be engaged in research projects, evaluation initiatives, surveys, data collection and specialized analyses. Appointments are typically between May and September with a competitive stipend for living and other expenses.

Part-Time Farm Educator, Wright-Locke Farm (Winchester, MA)

Farm Educators will lead lessons and activities for small groups of children, ages 3 – 12 depending on the program. All activities take place at Wright-Locke Farm. Educators should enjoy working with kids and spending time outdoors. Applicants are preferred to have experience in outdoor/nature-based education.​ If you do not meet the job requirements listed, please tell us why you might be a good fit anyways! ​Educators will work at least 8 hours per week, pay is $15/hour.
