Summer Land Steward (2), 1000 Islands Land Trust (Clayton, NY)

Summer Land Stewards of the Thousand Islands Land Trust are hired each summer to provide essential support to Stewardship Staff. These interns work outdoors, helping with preserve maintenance, easement monitoring, and trail work. These internships are made possible by the Ames Family Stewardship Fund, Ellen & Stuart Burt Summer Stewardship Fund, the Fresh Sound Foundation, and the Ferguson Foundation. 35-40 hrs/week, $13/hr .

Water Quality Monitoring Intern, Connecticut River Conservancy (Western MA)

Coordinate and/or assist with coordinating volunteer water quality monitoring programs for the Connecticut River Conservancy and other watershed associations in western Massachusetts; work with volunteers; manage supply distribution; water sample collection and analysis; and other ongoing program support. 20-25 hrs/week.

Summer Internship, Williamstown Rural Lands Foundation (Williamstown, MA)

The Williamstown Rural Lands Foundation (WRLF), a land conservation trust dedicated to the preservation of the Williamstown area’s rural New England character, offers a summer internship in land conservation, non-profit management, natural history, and outdoor education. The internship runs for eight weeks, unpaid but will WRLF will assist in gaining funding.

Field Crew, Hutchins Farm (Concord, MA)

Farming experience is nice, but not necessary. The work will vary, but will include: planting, weeding, harvesting, washing, and packing a wide variety of vegetables and small fruit. Workers may also be involved in greenhouse work, grounds maintenance, sales in our Farm Stand or at Farmers’ Markets, irrigation, or other aspects of the operation based on the farm’s needs and the worker’s inclination. Hourly pay begins at $13.50/hour.
