Global Research Assistant Program, Tufts University (Remote or International)

The Global Research Assistant Program (GRAP) provides the opportunity for Tufts students to work with Tufts faculty members on international research and impact projects for a minimum of eight weeks during the summer. Projects this year include research on coral reef resilience, socio-ecological resilience in coffee, academic outcomes of primary school students in Uganda, exploring the dark universe, the power of mentoring, and more.

Chief Sustainability Officer, University of Southern California

The University of Southern California (USC) is seeking an experienced Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) with a commitment to operational excellence. The CSO is a new executive staff position that reports directly to the Senior Vice President for Administration. The inaugural CSO will develop and lead all sustainability efforts in university operations of strategic planning, implementation and progress tracking to advance the university’s goals as reflected in the university’s sustainability plan(s). The CSO will partner with stakeholders across the university to develop and integrate sustainability values and practices into planning processes, resource management and facilities planning and design. The leader will foster a culture of sustainability among internal and external university stakeholders, and will facilitate sustainability ideation, innovation and experiential learning.

Climate Policy Director, Ocean Conservancy (D.C./other locations possible)

The Director will help shape and lead Ocean Conservancy’s growing climate policy agenda by working to advance a suite of climate policy priorities, and collaborating across the organization to magnify and multiply the impact of climate work happening across Ocean Conservancy’s conservation programs.  The Director will lead creation and implementation of high impact advocacy strategies to ensure ocean-based climate solutions are effectively incorporated as part of U.S. and international climate agendas. This will include building out a targeted set of strategies to advance ocean-based climate solutions, providing leadership to support ambitious climate action domestically and internationally, and partnering with ongoing work in other programs on shipping emissions, offshore wind, and climate-ready fisheries to magnify and multiply the impact of those efforts.

Sustainability Manager, Campus Services- Harvard University (Cambridge, MA)

The Sustainability Manager, reporting to the Managing Director, utilizes a change management framework with members of the University community to co-create, and drive implementation of, major University-wide initiatives and programs, including the University’s Sustainability Plan and Climate Action Plan.  The Sustainability Manager will focus on program management, planning, preparing content for, and staffing internal stakeholder groups and external partnerships focused on living lab priorities. To accomplish this, they will need to research technical solutions and propose innovative ideas on a wide range of topics, including the flagship Healthier Building Academy.  This position includes a strong focus on program and partnership development and management and governance, especially with Capital Project and Facilities leaders and their teams.  They will develop and execute comprehensive project plans and strengthen relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders including senior leaders, faculty, and students. Additionally, the Manager will be responsible for envisioning and executing University-wide policies, programs, tools, and resources aimed at building a culture of sustainability on campus, identifying and developing living lab opportunities and institutionalizing best practices.

Greening Facilitator, Reduction in Motion (Baltimore, MD)

Serve as primary facilitator to implement Reduction In Motion’s sustainability programs at one or more of our client facilities.  The selected candidate will ensure our programs are running smoothly and efficiently, and make sure our clients are satisfied with the level of service they are receiving.

The Greening Facilitator will spend most of their time at client facilities to accurately monitor the sustainability programs in place, and to be on hand to mitigate any issues that may arise from the client.
