Summer Research Associate, Sustainable Accounting Standards Board- SASB (San Francisco, CA)

The Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB)’s mission is to help businesses around the world identify, manage, and report on the sustainability topics that matter most to their investors. The Summer Research Associate will support the Research Team at SASB on a temporary basis, typically during the course of a degree-granting program (for example, between the 1st and 2nd years of an MBA). While there is some flexibility, SASB expects a 10-12 week commitment. In this role, you will partner with SASB’s Analysts and take responsibility for a specific project in support of the development of SASB’s industry-specific standards. In supporting the development of the standards (or the market’s implementation of the standards), you may specialize in one or more sectors and collaborate with Analysts to assess the financial materiality of ESG issues, advance performance measurement, and help drive forward projects that support the market’s use of the SASB standards.

Camp Counselor, Camp Waldo (Summers County, West Virginia)

Start your summer off right by joining the Camp Waldo team! Camp Waldo is a three-week overnight summer camp located on the banks of the Greenbrier River in Summers County, West Virginia, serving kids ages eight through thirteen. If you have a love for working with children and a love for nature, Camp Waldo is the place for you!

We are paying staff $1500 for the three weeks of camp, plus providing all meals and housing. We also offer counselors paid internships in other parts of the organization (pollinator science, environmental philosophy, communications/marketing, reforestation ecology, native plant horticulture, beekeeping, organic farming, and economic development).

We are looking for undergraduate African Americans, Hispanic Americans, American Indians, Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians, and Native Pacific Islanders, who are curious about the natural world. Design and carry out original scientific research in a tropical rain forest. Strict COVID protocols will be followed as part of the on-boarding and during-program procedures. $550/week stipend, room and board, funding for international travel.

REU in Changing Coastal Environments, LUMCON (Cocodrie, LA)

This summer, mentors are interested in supporting interns to conduct research in a number of topic areas, including: biogeochemistry, habitat forming species, dissolved organic matter cycling, microbial ecology, coastal geology and sea level rise, invertebrate diversity and ecology, disturbance ecology, ecosystem ecology, wetland science, and oil spill impacts. $600/week stipend; room and board, transportation stipend, and research funds.
