Samuel H. Kress Fellowship in Interpretation (Education)

Description:
The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston seeks applicants for the Samuel H. Kress Fellowship in Interpretation. This 10-month appointment begins in September of 2015 and will focus on the interpretation of exhibitions and collection objects for the general museum audience. At the MFA, the Kress Fellow will work closely with the Head of Interpretation and learn from interdepartmental teams of curators, educators, designers, evaluators, and exhibition planning staff. Proposed projects will include a range of exhibitions, among them Della Robbia Sculptures in American Collections, as well as ongoing interpretation of the permanent collection. The Kress Fellow also will have the opportunity to present public gallery talks and to participate in evaluation of the Museum’s interpretive strategies.

Compensation includes salary and travel allowance, in addition to a generous benefits package.

Qualifications:
Applicants must have a master’s degree or comparable graduate study in art, art history, or a related field; a broad general knowledge of art history; strong writing and copy-editing skills; strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work as a member of a team.
