Standardized Testing

As much as we might hate to take them, most veterinary colleges require one or more standardized tests: the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT), Veteirnary College Admission Test (VCAT), or Graduate Record Examination (GRE). For further information regarding test dates and registration procedures, contact the testing agencies listed below:

(Note: According to the Association of American Veterinary Medical College, the Psychological Corporation announced in Spring 2003 that the Veterinary College Admission Test (VCAT) would be discontinued, effective June 30, 2003. Any tests that were administered on or before June 30, 2003 will be processed and scored. Transcript-reporting services will be available for candidates and recipient schools for five years preceding test dates, through June 30, 2008. Questions regarding the VCAT should be directed to PSE Customer Relations at 1-800-622-323. The following schools will still accept recent VCAT scores: University of Georgia, Ohio State University, Mississippi State University, University of Tennessee.)
