Protecting Our Democracy: Lessons from Tunisia and Egypt
Some recent developments in the U.S. have had a familiar ring to them for those who have lived under authoritarian rule. Talk about rigged elections, foreign intervention, fake news, the deep state, gender rights, and coups are very much part of another world not normally associated with this country. This panel discussion will draw lessons in two ways. It seeks to inform U.S. policy towards the region and to inform communities in the U.S. reacting to changing orders here in the U.S. and abroad.
