YouMedia Director [Springfield City School District]

The YouMedia Director will work to oversee the successful operation of the YouMedia Center which includes ensuring that programming is meeting the desired needs of the participating students, that mentors are available for desired content areas and projects, and that the site is utilized at goal capacity levels.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Manage daily operation of the YouMedia digital learning center.

Plan, create, administer, and evaluate digital curriculum and teen programming.

Oversee program partnerships.

Collaborate with national YouMedia learning labs and related programs.

Maintain YouMedia center budgets, equipment, supplies and collections.

Supervise tours.

Coordinate learning initiatives.

Actively recruit youth.

Plan and facilitate mentor trainings and professional development.

Engage youth as producers, artists, managers, and designers of digital media.

Create and grow social network.

Work with College and Career Readiness Coordinator.

The Successful candidate must possess:

A Bachelor’s Degree

Three years of supervisory experience in youth development, project or program management, or digital media or creative arts practice.

High degree of competency with digital media,  including social media; competence with budget development and management; supervisory experience; excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

Experience in developing and implementing policies related to use of equipment, behavior, privacy, and staff relations.
