JOB SUMMARY
Leadership of the Museum’s sales efforts aligned with the institution’s strategic plan and business planning goals, serving as primary point of contact and liaison with all sectors of the visitor industry and the development and marketing of new programs that will leverage Bishop Museum’s assets and appeal to visitor sectors in the eastbound and westbound markets. The Director of Sales will work with the Museum’s senior management, department leadership and staff across the Museum to develop and promote programs that capture sales opportunities and meet revenue goals for the Museum.

Job Requirements

DESIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

4 year degree/diploma in Travel Industry Management or closely related discipline and/or equivalent combination of education and experience or related experience.  Strong knowledge of leisure sales, tour & travel market.  Minimum of five years of experience managing or leading a visitor industry sales program.
Demonstrated ability to understand customer requirements and translating these into sales solutions.
Must also be able to travel as needed to conferences, trade shows, tenant offices and other company offices. Positive service oriented attitude toward our employees, guests and our organization.
